How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Last updated: 4 June 2026

King Work ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store and protect personal information we hold about members, prospective members, visitors to our website, and guests of our coworking space at Level 3, 117 King William Street, Adelaide SA 5000.

1. What personal information we collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us. It may include:

  • Identity and contact details — name, business name, email, phone number, postal address;
  • Membership and billing details — plan, billing address, payment card or bank details (processed by our payment providers, not stored by us);
  • Access and usage records — meeting room bookings, building access logs, Wi-Fi usage, and CCTV footage of common areas;
  • Correspondence — enquiries, tour requests and feedback you send us;
  • Website analytics — IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed and referring URLs (collected via cookies and similar technologies);
  • Marketing preferences — your opt-in/opt-out status for our newsletter and event communications.

We do not generally collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act). If we ever need to, we will ask for your consent first.

2. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you whenever possible — for example when you book a tour, sign up for membership, contact us, attend an event, or use our space and services. We may also collect information from third parties such as your employer (if your membership is arranged through a business), our payment processors, or publicly available sources.

3. Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to:

  • provide and administer memberships, bookings and access;
  • process payments and issue invoices;
  • respond to enquiries and provide customer support;
  • maintain the safety and security of our premises (including CCTV);
  • send you service updates, and — where you have opted in — marketing about King Work events, offers and news;
  • improve our website, services and member experience; and
  • meet our legal, regulatory and tax obligations in Australia.

4. Disclosure of your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

  • service providers who help us operate our business — for example payment processors, accounting and CRM software, email and hosting providers, and IT and security contractors;
  • professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, auditors) where reasonably necessary;
  • government, law enforcement or regulatory bodies where required or authorised by law; and
  • a purchaser or successor in the event of a sale, merger or restructure of our business.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (including cloud hosting, analytics and email platforms) store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where we disclose personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences and understand how it is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may not function correctly.

7. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls, encryption in transit, secured premises and staff confidentiality obligations. We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes set out above or as required by law, after which it is securely deleted or de-identified.

8. Accessing and correcting your information

You have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

9. Marketing and opting out

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us. We will continue to send you essential service communications relating to your membership.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can investigate and try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with the "last updated" date.
